ComfortDelGro Australia Grows Commitment and Moustaches During Movember

Leading transport company ComfortDelGro Corporation Australia (CDC) has committed more to men’s health awareness during Movember for 2021.

In addition to nearly 1500 iconic Movember moustaches adorning its buses, patient transport vehicles and other vehicles across the country, CDC employees will take part in fundraising activities to support this worthy cause.

This year, CDC will be donating $10,000 in addition to the donations generated by its workforce.

CDC CEO Nicholas Yap said that Movember is a great cause and he is pleased to be contributing more to this year’s activities.

“Movember is a time that our staff and customers always enjoy. It’s fun to have the moustaches on our buses and our fundraising activities help to build great staff camaraderie while raising money,” Mr Yap said.

“However, Movember also has a very serious side which is important to us.

“Men’s health research and suicide prevention are causes we are very proud to be supporting, which is why we have decided to donate as a company together with our Australia-wide staff.”

Kieran Ryan, Movember’s Head of Corporate Partnerships Australia said that Movember is pleased to be working with ComfortDelGro Australia nationally for a third consecutive year for ‘Mo’s Around Town’.

“This year is bigger and better than ever, with almost 1,500 Mos on CDC vehicles across the country,” Mr Ryan said.

“Our iconic Mo will be starting conversations and raising awareness for men’s health thanks to the support of CDC.

“The role of the Mo is to raise awareness and start conversations, it’s our hairy ribbon and this year those conversations are more important than ever.

“Men are dying too young, on average four and a half years earlier than women globally, and four years earlier than women in Australia and for largely preventable reasons. We want to encourage men to step up and take control of their health.

“We’ve made significant progress but there’s still much to be done. In Australia, men account for three out of every four suicides.

“One in six Aussie men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime and testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men,” Mr Ryan said.

Movember takes place in November each year to support men’s health awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. For more information on this leading global charity, visit au.movember.com.
