What’s involved in the application process?

What should I know before applying?
- Applicants with recent criminal convictions or driving offences may not be eligible. However, eligibility is assessed holistically, considering all aspects of the pre-employment check process.
- The application process may take up to 6 weeks, depending on individual circumstances. This does include Police checks, working with children checks, and other onboarding
What do I need to become a bus driver?
- Hold a valid NSW Driver’s License (or be willing to obtain one).
- Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work visa.
- Be available to work across various shifts as required by the role.
Do I have to upload driving record?
Yes, please have your driving record ready to submit with your application. You can download your uncertified driving record from your Service NSW app. This is a crucial step to progress your complete application
Can CDC NSW assist me in upgrading my licence?
Yes! We can support eligible applicants in obtaining the required licence to become a bus driver. Please speak with our recruitment team for details.
What training is provided?
CDC NSW offers comprehensive onboarding and role-specific training to ensure you’re fully equipped to succeed in your position.
Do I get paid whilst in training?
Yes, CDC will pay you whilst you are undergoing training.
Do you supply a uniform?
Yes, all drivers are issued with a CDC NSW uniform, which includes shirts, trousers, jacket, safety gear . Uniform details will be provided during onboarding.
What is the current pay rate?

What hours will I be offered?
