From Friday 18 February, Opal card machines, fare collection systems and transport timetable apps may be disabled for customers travelling on our north-west Sydney, Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley and Queanbeyan bus services due to protected industrial action by the Transport Workers’ Union of Australia.
While bus services will run as scheduled, the disabling of fare collection can prevent real-time travel information from reaching transport timetable apps. Additionally, it means that any multi-trip discounts for trips taken on our services will not be applied to Opal accounts.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
